Joel Spira, together with Stanley Weinstein co-founded the firm in 1962. From the very start, Joel was motivated by a clear vision for building a top-quality firm with a reputation for performing outstanding professional work. He achieved this goal by instilling a culture of excellence and by forging long-lasting relationships with top management, owners, and financial officers of emerging and leading businesses locally, regionally, and nationally. Initially trained as a tax accountant, Joel became a trusted business advisor with expertise in mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, executive recruitment, the implementation of business plans, as well as operating and marketing strategies.

Determined, entrepreneurial and a skilled strategist, Joel devoted a lifetime to systematically establish the foundation for what is now a unique organization, deeply rooted in the Houston business community and best known for its superior client service. Joel's legacy is apparent in a corporate culture that prizes collaboration, integrity and an intense devotion to clients' success, but most importantly, in the impeccable delivery of products and services.

Joel attended the University of Texas and the University of Houston. He has been active with and a leader of many community, social and Jewish organizations. He is currently a member fo the Board and Chairman of a small public company listed on the American Stock Exchange.

Joel and his late wife, Brenda, have three daughters and seven grandchildren. Joel likes to recall how, in his first years in business, he used to fear that no business person would do business with him because of his youthful appearance. He is thrilled to have been proven wrong.
